About the role

Select Plant Hire operates as part of the Laing O'Rourke Group and has one of the industry's largest and most diverse ranges of equipment, accommodation and tools to deliver on every type of construction project.

Select Plant Hire is currently recruiting for a self-motivated Hire Controller to join the Plant Hire Team in our Stapylton office where they will provide a procurement service to meet customers plant and equipment hire requirements. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Conducting plant hire transactions to meet the demands of allocated Laing O'Rourke projects and external customers;
  • Maintain company procedures ensuring a high degree of accuracy and compliance is achieved for each hire agreement;
  • Support the best utilisation of Select owned assets by forecasting new hire and swap out opportunities to the Select Plant Hire branch network;
  • Support the engagement and performance management of Select Plant Hire's preferred supply chain;
  • Act as single point of contact for allocated projects and customers providing exceptional customer service and support;
  • Maintain accurate records of current and completed hire agreements to ensure quality billing to Select Plant Hire's customers;
  • Continually develop technical understanding of plant and equipment to better support/understand customer requirements.

 

You will have

  • Previous experience working in the Plant and Equipment Hire industry, or Procurement and Purchasing with Office Administration Management fields or a dispatch/coordinator role will be highly regarded;
  • A high attention to detail with accurate and timely data processing skills;
  • Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills to process a high volume of customer request;
  • A good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes;
  • Excellent customer service skills (both written and verbal) including being able to work under pressure;
  • Self-motivated with sound problem-solving skills and a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach working as part of a high-performing team;
  • The successful candidate must also possess at a minimum intermediate to advanced MS Office package skills.
