The Company
Our client is a fast growing business within the clinical trial/pharmaceutical supplies industry. An opportunity not to be missed for an experienced Procurement & Logistics professional. You will be part of a hard working close knit team in amazing office overlooking Melbourne’s CBD.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Procurement and Logistics Managers purpose is to manage the procurement, logistics and supply of pharmaceuticals to my client’s customers nationally and internationally. Achieved through maintaining and strengthening internal processes, enhancing stakeholder relationships and strong commercial and analytical skills the Procurement and Logistics Manager plays an integral role in the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively manage all supplier orders as they arise, ensuring internal processes are followed and suppliers are responded to in a professional, timely and accurate manner
- Purchasing, including stock control, forecasting, product batch and expiry date management
- Establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Freight Management including coordinating domestic and international transport and arranging customs clearance
- 3PL warehousing management, ensuring communication is maintained, KPI’s are established and achieved and product integrity is maintained at delivery, storage and dispatch stages
- Develop performance reports and distribute them to stakeholders
- Supporting the review and analysis of monthly operational activities
- Monitor inventory order shipment to ensure on-time delivery to customers
- Provide outstanding service and results to internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Financial accountability for costs and expenses associated with the department including payment of invoices and managing budgets
- Service vendor contract management
- Review and recommendations for process improvement initiatives aligned with the strategic direction of the business
- Maintain computerised information systems and participate in their continuous development to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Escalate enquiries of a commercially sensitive or technical nature
- Co-ordinate, analyse and improve procurement and logistics service functions in line with company goals
- Perform administrative and management duties appropriate to the activities of the business
- Adhering to company quality policies and procedures

Your Profile
You will have proven experience in Pharmaceuticals and or worked in a similar environment that deals with high value goods, high care goods, or within the food industry. The right candidate will have had exposure in the process of importing and exporting nationally and internationally.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has a strong interest in this industry, this position will also bring growth for the right person. The right fit will be for someone who is hard working, operational and hard working whilst working very closely with other employees. This is role is hands-on, managing multiple facets with less analytical work.
The successful person for this role will be able to successfully complete an Excel computer test at an advanced level (i.e. can do V LookUps and pivot tables).
