The Opportunity

Monash Rural Health (MRH) has the mandate in the faculty to improve the health status of regional, rural and remote communities in Australia, and more specifically in Victoria. We meet this mandate through the development and implementation of medical and health professions education programs in under-served rural communities, the development of new models of rural health services and targeted research that addresses priority health problems in rural populations. MRH has major regional academic units in South East and North West Victoria:

  • Graduate Entry Year A (MD), at Churchill
  • Four regional clinical academic units dedicated largely to rural medical education at Mildura, Bendigo, Latrobe Valley and West Gippsland, East and South Gippsland
  • RNAH at Moe, which is dedicated to placements, education and research in the fields of Nursing, and Allied Health
  • Office of the Head of School which includes the Research Office across all units and at Monash Clayton campus

Monash Rural Health is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Administrative Officer to take responsibility for the provision of professional administrative services to support the effective delivery of the rural medical education program for students enrolled in the Monash MD course and undertaking placement at Warragul and the staff who teach into this program.

Within this role you will provide of a range of services relating to office administration, student and staff support, engagement with stakeholders and assisting with event arrangements. You will often be the first point of contact for enquiries from students, academics, professional staff, clinical staff and the general public and as such, provide sound and timely advice and support to all stakeholders.

To be successful within this role you will:

  • Have strong administration skills and experience and a demonstrated capacity to deliver effective processes and systems
  • Experience in front-line customer service with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, data entry and word-processing skills including experience using business software such as Microsoft Office
  • Experience in medical related administration and/or familiarity with medical terminology
