About the company
In response to the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry, Latrobe City has been designated as a Health Innovation Zone. The Latrobe Health Advocate is a key structure within the Zone that will provide independent advice to the Victorian Government on behalf of Latrobe Valley communities on system and policy issues affecting their health and wellbeing.
The Latrobe Health Advocate is a newly established role that reports directly to the Minister for Health. The Advocate will be supported by a small team reporting directly to the Advocate, focusing on activities within the Latrobe Health Innovation Zone as designated by the government.
About the role
This role will provide high level support, coordination and project management to the office of the Latrobe Health Advocate. To be successful in this role you will offer demonstrated high level experience in office coordination, program delivery and/or project development, and a connection to and understanding of Latrobe Valley communities and context. This is a fixed term contract (up to 3 years), full-time role (76 hours per fortnight) located in Latrobe City.
Duties
- Manage and provide a high level of support and operate with a high level of autonomy in managing communication between the Advocate, communities and key stakeholders
- Research, prepare and/or write complex briefs, letters, emails and reports
- Assume coordination responsibilities and effectively develop, manage and maintain systems of social media profiling, records management, financial information and fleet management
- Arrange meetings, events and conferences
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements
- Other duties as required
Skills & Experience
- Previous high-level experience in office coordination, program delivery and/or project development is highly desirable
- An understanding of the Ottowa Charter for Health Promotion, Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry and Victorian Government Implementation Plan is desirable
- Advanced computer skills: uses a wide range of software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
- Social media skills: shapes, creates, posts and maintains social media material
- Planning and organising: identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal; develops and implements systems and procedures to guide work and track progress; recognises barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them
- Problem solving: seeks all relevant information for problem solving; investigates and probes for the facts; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems
- Self-management: plans and prioritises work to ensure outcomes are achieved
