The role of Rostering Coordinator QLD is instrumental in connecting doctors to patients in their homes or in aged care facilities when their GP is not available – this means quality care to patients when they need it most.

Who are we?

13SICK National Home Doctor Service is Australia’s largest network of home visiting doctors. Our team of 700 doctors deliver care to patients at home or in facilities when their GP is closed. Thousands of GPs refer their patients to us every night. We enable GPs to provide continuity of care to their patients, providing a report to the GP after every visit. In providing care to patients when options are limited, we also help reduce pressure on the hospital system. What will you be doing?

You as the Rostering Coordinator will manage the rostering and efficient and effective utilisation of our Doctor workforce, ensuring patients are seen when they need us most.  The Rostering Coordinator role is the primary lead in managing rosters to ensure we have the Doctor in the right place at the right time.

Specific areas of the responsibility include:

  • Liaising with Doctors to establish availability and plan the roster accordingly
  • Producing, optimising and publishing rosters in advance, promoting vacancies in the roster to maximise shift coverage
  • Reviewing daily roster periods to identify performance issues, compliance matters and roster shortfalls
  • Attending Doctor inductions to familiarise new doctors joining our team with rostering, on road and general operational matters
  • Building rapport and engagement with our doctors  to proactively promote vacancies in the roster, with the aim of maximising shift fulfilment/coverage
  • Assisting in identifying and re-engaging Doctors who have not worked on the road for notable periods
  • Supporting the operations team to drive activities and initiatives to engage the Doctor workforce

What knowledge, skills and attributes do you need to have?

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in rostering or workforce planning is desirable but not essential
  • Experience in healthcare and working with doctors or health professionals is ideal but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation/influencing skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a dynamic / multi priority environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, notably Microsoft Excel and other systems such as CRM
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders
  • Initiative to ensure issues are identified and addressed appropriately
  • The ability to work in a team environment or autonomously, when required
  • Comfortable working in a fast moving business
