About the Service

Centrecare Incorporated, in partnership with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, have established an integrated approach to delivering the Department of Communities – Child Protection and Family Support (CPFS) Building Safe and Strong Families: Earlier Intervention and Family Support Strategy (the EIFS Strategy).

The overarching outcome will be to have children living in safe, stable nurturing environments, achieving good life outcomes, protecting from abuse and neglect and to support families and individuals who are at risk of crisis.

These services focuses on the needs of vulnerable Aboriginal children and families experiencing significant disadvantage and adverse consequences. Providing culturally secure, family focused services to support families to minimise risk to children and young people and to divert them from the child protection system.

The Role

To attend to the general administrative duties of the service and provide support to the Executive Manager and Program Manager as per procedure manual.

A few specifics 

  • Answer the 1300 overflow calls promptly and in a courteous manner in the absence of the Common Entrypoint Team.
  • Provide brief information to telephone enquiries of the services of the FSN, the agency or information on other matters, if appropriate.
  • Attend to general enquiries and provide assistance where possible.
  • Ensure the reception is clean, neat and tidy at all times.
  • Respond to staff enquiries and provide basic technical support.
  • Providing typing, photocopying, formatting and proofing services when required.
  • Ensure stationary stocks and Centrecare logo stationary are maintained.
  • Maintaining the appointment diary.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail and parcels, including the ordering of stamps when applicable and ordering of couriers when needed

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate II Business studies minimum.
  • Excellent computer skills to include data entry and typing speed of more than 60 words per minute (this will be tested at selection stage).

Selection Criteria 

  • Demonstrated experience responding to customers/clients as the first point of contact within an organisation to include operating a multi line telephone system.
  • Ability to oversee the day to day operation of an office and associated equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to assist the manager and staff in meeting Quality Assurance requirements of the agency.
  • Able to take high quality minutes of meetings, proof documents, develop forms and brochures/flyers and attend to advertising requirement.
  • Experience maintaining petty cash, imprest accounts and payment systems to include collecting fees, receipting, recording and banking.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Must have C class licence and supply own vehicle.
  • National Police Clearance
