Campus Life within Macquarie University are seeking casual pool lifeguards to work with our friendly and supportive team at Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre. Our Aquatic Centre operates 7 days a week, with a heated 8-lane outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool and a 6-lane heated indoor pool.
Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, the casual pool lifeguard will be responsible for the safety and supervision of members and guests using our aquatic facilities. You will be involved in pool water testing in accordance with NSW Health Regulations and will assist with both centre / pool set ups and close downs. You will respond efficiently and effectively to any medical or customer related incidents, implementing preventative management and completing any mandatory reporting as required.
Please note this position requires weekend work, the centre operates from 5.30am - 10.00pm, availability for early morning and evening shifts may be required.

Essential Criteria
- Current Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Licence
- Bronze Medallion
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate (or wiliness to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience in a customer focused role
- Verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in an aquatic / leisure / or sport environment
- Experience in a safety and/or education setting
- Aquatic Supervision qualification
