About the business and the role

• Swimming with Excellence was founded in 2007 to provide intensive swim programs to neighbouring school communities.  The swim school has expanded to include an out of school hours learn to swim and squad program which continues to operate from the Bialik College Gringlas Sports Centre with students from the College and several other schools.  This excellent swim school has an emerging Swim Club developed for those wishing to pursue swimming as a fun, competitive sport.
• Swimming and Water Safety teachers are expected to nurture and develop students in their care.  Liaising with the Director and Deck Supervisor teachers will ensure all students are extended above and beyond their current skill level.
• We are seeking Swimming and Water Safety teachers who enjoy working in a fun environment, are tolerant, inclusive and at all times respectful of an individual's gender, age, ethnicity and or disability.
• We also offer extensive training to new Swimming and Water Safety teachers who may have completed their course and require hours.
• We are seeking Swimming and Water Safety teachers for work during school hours and after school Monday to Friday and Saturday morning.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere by engaging all people in a friendly and inclusive manner
• Work with a team approach and professionalism at all times
• Plan and deliver high quality swimming and water safety lessons in accordance with students skill level, age and learning capabilities
• Follow the Swimming with Excellence swim program and lesson plans
• Ability to adapt quickly and to think outside the square
• Perform other duties as required

Skills and experience

To be a part of SWE family, you will have the following:

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
• A current CPR certificate
• Victorian Working with Children Check
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Commitment to your shifts on a term by term basis

Additional qualifications will be highly regarded:

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant Aquatics (or equivalent)
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes (or equivalent)
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults (or equivalent)
• Pool Lifeguard Award
