Our aim at Sam Riley Swim Schools is to maintain an environment for children to learn-to-swim that is fun, happy, stimulating and encouraging; one that will keep kids smiling while learning a life long skill. In the pool and out, all our facilities are second to none. Our indoor pools are heated to 32 degrees all year round, purpose-built to create the perfect teaching and learning environment!

We are looking to recruit an experienced Swim School Manager for our brand new Swim School situated in North Lakes.

This position is an integral part of the Swim School team and is heavily focused on ensuring the high standards of customer service and our learn-to-swim program are maintained.


Day to day duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Overall development and performance of the swim school
  • Working with management on process improvement initiatives
  • Working with the overall business to ensure the swim school is operating at optimum efficiency
  • Interacting with parents and students within the Swim School
  • Pool deck supervising including assessing swimmers, facilitating communication of feedback to both parents and teachers, recording and updating swimmer files with assessment notes
  • Processing and managing customer requests, queries and complaints
  • Managing all staff procedures, rosters and time off requests
  • Liaising with the Maintenance division regarding pool and facility maintenance requirements
  • Responsible for accounts outstanding, wages, petty cash, banking and forms


You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities whilst being willing to be hands-on with the day-to-day business operations. We have a preference for candidates with learn-to-swim program experience; however this is not essential. Additionally, our preferred candidate will possess excellent communications skills and superior administrative abilities with an energetic and pro-active approach to growing and improving the swim school.

This is a full time position in which you will be required to work a 5 day per week roster, one of those days being a day on the weekend. In return you will receive an excellent remuneration package, training, and a great opportunity to grow within our team.

Selection Criteria

This employer is an Austswim Registered Swim School.

To be considered for this position, you must be able to meet the following selection criteria:

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in similar role or working in an aquatic facility
  • Positive Notice Blue Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety / Swim Australia equivalent

Desirable

  • University degree in Management specialising in sports or similar
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
  • AUSTSWIM Competitive Strokes
  • AUSTSWIM Inclusive Aquatics / Learners with Disability (can obtain upon commencement)
