From grassroots cricket to the elite teams – the Victorian Men’s Cricket Team, Victorian Women’s Cricket Team, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades, Cricket Victoria nurtures and promotes the development and success of the sport for all Victorians. 
 
Cricket Victoria is currently seeking a Head of Club & Community Cricket to lead club and competitions development across Victoria with a focus on supporting inclusive clubs, junior cricket, policy and building club capacity. The position leads a team in delivering the various objectives across each area in a planned and coordinated approach.  
 
The position will be responsible for –
  • Leading a team focused on developing policy and supporting strategies that can be implemented via staff in regions and across the wider cricket community. 
  • Establishing and developing initiatives for clubs and indoor centres that promotes and assists in the establishment of an inclusive/welcoming environment.  
  • Leading a team that provides specialised support and services to the staff in regions to enable retention and subsequent growth within club/indoor cricket participation. 
  • Leading Cricket Victoria’s child protection policy and oversee the delivery of the action plan that ensures cricket provides a safe environment for children.
  • Overseeing state wide volunteer strategies for recruitment, engagement, reward and development including alignment and relationship with CA.
  • Communicating consistently and effectively with affiliates, associations, clubs and indoor centres and maintain strong relationships (with a focus on policy and servicing).
  • Driving strong connections and linkages with the BBL/WBBL teams via strategic initiatives (e.g. Renegades Champions League, BBL Club initiatives).
  • Developing strategies that are scalable to improve retention of players in club and indoor cricket as well as drive an increase in diverse participants (e.g. Harmony in Cricket Association).
  • Overseeing the operations and appropriately delegating responsibility for Community Cricket teams within national carnivals (Inclusion Championships, Indigenous Championships, Indoor and Country Cricket). 
  • Driving uptake and promotion of state and national programs, systems and policies including; Junior Formats, MyCricket, Member Protection Policies, A Sport for All Training.
  • Leading and enhancing Cricket Victoria’s club and association development program and support the roll out of the metropolitan and country cricket strategies Actively embed indoor cricket within the cricket community through new opportunities including the NICL and Indoor 4s.
  • Exploring opportunities to generate revenue through funding opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Ensuring strong customer service and MyCricket servicing is provided to clubs, associations and affiliates with insights that influence strategy within Cricket Victoria.
To be successful, you will have –
  • University qualification in a related field (e.g. management, sport administration, business, education)
  • Leadership experience and demonstrated skills in managing a successful team 
  • Excellent planning processes and an ability to lead and execute operations (e.g. cricket competitions) 
  • Strong relationship building skills and an ability to relate and work with staff, volunteers and cricket administrators
  • Outstanding communication skills inclusive of presentations, policy writing, reports and in the development of proposals
  • Event management skills and an ability to make timely decisions regarding competitions and events
