The Murray Evans Sports and Aquatic Centre is seeking applications for the position of casual Pool Lifeguard. This is an 'all year round' position.

The Pool Lifeguards work under the supervision of the Sports Complex Managers. The sports complex includes an Olympic size, heated outdoor swimming pool, as well as indoor sporting facilities.

The sports complex forms part of the Somerville House School for Girls. This facility operates all year through, and is open to the public, used co-operatively between public users and the School students and staff. Pool Lifeguards are responsible for the supervision of patrons, customer service at the Pool Kiosk and the day-to-day operation of the centre.

Applicants are asked to address the following criteria:

• Blue Card for working with children available from Blue Card Services (Public Safety Business Agency), or ability to apply for a Blue Card is a mandatory requirement

• Pool Lifeguard qualifications (mandatory requirement)

• Must be available to work a minimum of 2-4 shifts per week Monday to Sunday

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times when providing assistance to sports complex patrons, students, staff and all other members of the community

• High level of organisational, interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team environment

• Maintain a high level of personal and professional presentation at all times

• A good sense of humour.
