About the Role:
We're on the search for a suitably qualified and experienced Assistant Course Superintendent to join our small team on a full-time basis. Reporting to our Course Superintendent, you will assist with the daily delivery of the golf course and surrounding grounds to the standards as set down by the Board and expectations of the Superintendent. The role is a salaried position across a Tuesday - Saturday roster and will involve additional overtime as part of the role from time-to-time.

This is a very important role within our organisation and as such you will be responsible for and must demonstrate the following:

  • Supervision of day-to-day course operations
  • Project management
  • An understanding of the chemical management process
  • Staff training
  • Assist with various administrative tasks
  • Ability to use IT systems and establishing and maintaining electronic documents
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations
  • Possess strong problem solving abilities
  • Experiencing working within (and under) a department budget
  • Experience in the purchase of chemicals, fertilisers and other course supplies
  • Possess good communication skills within your team and across departments
  • Daily assistance with general machinery maintenance in conjunction with the mechanic as required

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and enjoys working in a small team environment
  • Agronomy qualifications preferred
  • Previous experience in a golf club essential either in a high level greenkeeping role or 2IC role
  • Be available to start but also finish early with regular rostered shifts
  • Be flexible and understanding that overtime is required from time-to-time as part of your salaried position
  • Your own transport
