BACKGROUND INFORMATION:The Box Hill Indoor Sports Centre is one of the largest of its kind in Australia and is in its thirty fourth year of operation, employing over 100 staff members. We offer competitions for Indoor Cricket, Netball, Volleyball, Futsal and Dodgeball all year round on weeknights and weekends, and we will soon be launching Basketball. We also cater for schools and other groups during weekdays and childrens birthday parties on weekends. We pride ourselves on operating the business in a thoroughly professional and innovative manner, and require staff of the highest calibre to meet this end.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
In consultation with the business owners and the Futsal & Soccer Manager, you will play a major role in managing the day to day operations of the Futsal & Soccer programs, including referee training and rostering, marketing & in-house promotions, grading, fixturing, customer liaison and the management of some evening and weekend shifts. With the recent addition of three brand new Futsal courts, this represents an exciting opportunity for someone to grow this exciting sport within the venue.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The successful applicant will be motivated to succeed in business, possess an analytical approach to decision-making, and have the ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff. In addition, strong administrative skills, some commercial retail experience and a background in Futsal and/or Soccer. Candidates will have preferably completed tertiary education in Sports Management/Administration.
SALARY:
This is a full-time position that involves working a combination of weekday, weeknight and weekend shifts.
An attractive salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant which will include an incentive bonus scheme and additional entitlements.
If the successful applicant is completing studies in 2018, a pro-rata part-time induction period may be possible.
