Our primary purpose is to grow, develop and nurture the sport to make bowls Victoria's most accessible sport which is played by all ages, backgrounds and abilities in both a social and competitive level.
With over 180,000 participants, 42,000 registered players and 500+ Clubs, Bowls Victoria lead the sport and business of bowls for the benefit of the existing and future Victorian bowls community.
About the role
We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to plan and deliver a program of participation activities that attract and retain a younger and more diverse audience to the sport of bowls.
Your main focus will be a newly funded state wide Under 18 Competition along with revamping existing junior development squads, developing university competitions and liaising with Clubs to offer inclusion programs.
Responsibilities and duties of the position include:

- Assist in the research, creation and pilot process for an Under 18 Competition before project managing the roll out
- Review, rebrand and relaunch the existing Junior Development Squads and coordinate four annual Junior Development Squad events
- Formalise relationships with Victorian universities and Unisport to ensure there is a strong competition pathway to the Australian University Games
- Prepare and action an Inclusion Participation Project Plan in line with the Bowls Victoria Participation Strategy
You will work closely with our Participation Manager and our Participation Coordinator (schools and all abilities) with support from our Member Services & Events Manager.
Ideal candidates will have tertiary qualifications in sports or business administration and relevant paid/voluntary experience in the sport industry. You will need excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people and with people from varying backgrounds.
This is a contract position (until June 2020) working full-time hours based in Hawthorn. Given the unique nature of the sports industry, working outside of office hours may be required on occasion.
