About the role
The Race Planning and Operations Coordinator role is primarily based at Royal Randwick Racecourse and reports to the General Manager Racing, Wagering and International. The successful applicant will be expected to work a number of weekend and public holiday race days at wherever of the ATC’s four race tracks these are held.
Working in the Racing Department, this position will be to support the racing team in the following areas:
- Assisting in the development of ATC race meeting and barrier trial programs
- Preparation of pre-race meeting material and communications for all ATC conducted races.
- Assisting with nominations and acceptances for Barrier Trial fields with RNSW for all ATC barrier trials.
- Provide management with monthly reporting relating to the racing product.
- Maintain racing information on ATC website
- Assist in the processing of RNSW Stakes Payment “sign off” for ATC race meetings
- Maintain rosters for racing officials
A key element of the role also includes working as a race day official in race judging and racing services capacities.
ATC welcomes applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:
The holder of the position will ideally have a minimum 2 years’ experience in the thoroughbred racing industry. Experience in racing administration would be an advantage as would a sound knowledge of the rules of racing.
Key skills required include:
- Sound administrative and organisational skills,
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including computer literacy
- The ability to work within strict deadlines and with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work with a team
- A high degree of personal integrity and credibility
