We are currently in the process of identifying suitably qualified individuals to fill vacancies on the Sunshine Coast Events Board and Working Groups. Applicants may also be considered for positions on the Board as they arise.
Whether on the Working Groups or the Board the various projects include:
- Assisting Council achieve the objectives of the Major Events Strategy
- Providing strategic advice to the Board and Council on retaining existing events and securing new events
- Making recommendations on the allocation of sponsorship funding to events.
The Sunshine Coast Events Board was created to ensure the ongoing success of the region in the management and attraction of major events which drive visitation and economic benefit to the region.
Ideally you will bring a number of the following skills and attributes:
- Knowledge of the region and its unique advantages
- Major event delivery or development experience
- Operation of major event related tourism infrastructure
- Strong commercial acumen
- Sponsorship experience
- Knowledge and experience in marketing, media or promotions
- Leadership skills
- A network of relevant contacts
These are voluntary positions that bring the opportunity to be involved with major events on the Sunshine Coast. If you are passionate about making a contribution to the Sunshine Coast region we would welcome your interest in being a part of the Working Groups and/or the Board.
