ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
With a history of successfully managing fitness, aquatic and recreation facilities for universities and local governments throughout Australia, the YMCA is excited to promote our newest partnership with Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
THE ROLE
We currently have multiple exciting opportunities for casual Pool Lifeguards at the QUT Fitness and Aquatic Centres at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses.
Our qualified Lifeguards take pride in what they do and are passionate about pool safety and providing the highest level of customer service. Primary duties will include pool supervision, lifesaving, identifying and reducing risk and administering first aid.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to be a reliable team player with a positive attitude who is committed to delivering a quality customer service experience.
Comfortable with responsibility, you will utilise your leadership skills to educate our patrons in safe aquatic practices in a polite and respectful manner.
You’ll be a positive role model who demonstrates our YMCA values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility.
It is essential that you have the following:
- Demonstrated, recent experience in a similar role;
- Demonstrated results orientation, attention to detail and an ability to concentrate for extended periods of time;
- Proven commitment to delivering and improving the customer service experience and a high level of professionalism;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A team player who is also comfortable working on their own and able to take responsibility for their actions
Minimum Qualifications
- Current RLSSQ Lifeguard Qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates;
- Hold a current positive notice Blue Card, or the capacity to obtain one.
Current Pool Plant Operations Certificate and/or AUS Swim Teacher certification would be advantageous.
