BIOPROPERTIES Pty Ltd is a growing animal vaccine manufacturing site located at Glenorie in Sydney's North West. We have various positions available across different levels for animal attendants/animal husbandry officer and experienced production supervisor.
Job description
The Animal Attendants are responsible for all steps in the chicken life cycle as well as the premises the birds are kept in. In addition the birds have to be kept safe from the outside environment where they can be exposed to pathogens.
Tasks include:
- Caring for eggs
- Hatching eggs and taking care of the hatchlings
- Caring for birds
- building pens
- daily maintenance
- ensuring animal welfare
- Keeping of the premises, such as cleaning and maintenance of:
- bird houses
- other parts of the building
- equipment
- Decontamination (to prevent cross-contamination and infection from outside)
- Filling in paperwork
Job requirements
- Experience dealing with animals (preferably poultry) an advantage
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good work ethics
- Attention to detail
- Own transport
