As the 2IC to Farm Manager you will be responsible for managing shed and packing floor employees. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience and a high level of skill with the operation and maintenance of feed, water and ventilation systems.
Located at the foot of the Blue Mountains and approximately 60 kms north-west of Sydney’s CBD, this opportunity will allow you to work in Agriculture, but still remain close to a major city.
Job Description:
The 2IC to Farm Manager will assist with managing employees and staffing rosters, as well as maintaining poultry machinery systems. To succeed in this role you must be able to successfully assist the Farm Manager with managing company resources, implement efficient farm practices and drive productivity. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and highly proactive leader capable of working with a diverse team to achieve desired outcomes. The 2IC to Farm Manager must also assist to continue to drive a culture of high performance and make incremental gains towards profitability and quality.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist with implementing a farm management plan
- Assist with leading and motivating a team of staff across the farming enterprise
- Managing shed and packing staff and organising their rosters
- Operating and maintaining feed, water and ventilation systems
- Assist with managing all farm resources and equipment
- Monitoring animal welfare and production quality
- Actively promoting a safe and productive company culture
- Following company policies and procedures on bio-security, safety, hygiene and sanitation
