Irrigation Operators are responsible for the successful irrigation and fertigation of our plants at Costa Berry Farm at Corindi, on the beautiful mid North Coast of New South Wales. Irrigation Operators play a key role in our Harvest team, with focus on plant health so that health is enhanced through irrigation practices.
About the role
At our berry farm, we harvest up to 5000 tonnes of berries each year. We are looking for an enthusiastic Irrigation Operator to assist us in ensuring our irrigation system is effective and efficient in delivering required nutrients to our plants.
Key responsibilities in this role include
- Irrigation and fertigation of Rubus plants so that plant health is optimised including irrigation within the desired range.
- Reporting of, and assisting in, events and/or issues associated with the irrigation system in a timely manner.
- Managing variances in in water requirements and the identification of leaks in the system.
- Maintenance of mainlines, filter systems, risers and drip lines.
- Play an active role in safety and participate in health and safety processes as required.
About you
We are looking for an Irrigation Operator who will perform well in our dynamic agribusiness. To be successful in this role you will
- Demonstrate skill in following verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Be able to work independently and as part of team.
- Have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Have the ability to establish cooperate working relationships.
Requirements
You must hold a full C class drivers licence without encumbrance.
Flexible hours of employment and weekend work will be required in this role.
