ROLE
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of a busy world class grading and packing operation based in NSW. Our client has been in the apple growing business for over 95 years, producing approximately 45 percent of NSW’s apple crop and producing some of the highest- grade apples in the country. Be based in the idyllic Tumut region of the Snowy Mountains, famous for its fresh produce and proximity to Kosciuszko National Park. Due to changes in the business, the opportunity for an Operations Manager to oversee their packing operations is now available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of the Operations Manager is to Site Manage the storage and packing operations; effectively managing the storage, packing and distribution of fresh produce.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience managing a modern packing shed for fresh produce (preferably fragile fruit) and management of teams in a busy environment
- Experience in a dynamic production environment with the ability to make decisions and troubleshoot in a fast- paced business
- Proven ability to plan tasks and manage staff according to packing requirements
- The ability to meet and exceed company KPIs
- Basic machinery maintenance knowledge
- Experience in packing for export would be highly advantageous
- The ability to communicate and work with a people from different backgrounds
- Proactive and driven to succeed
- Degree qualifications not essential
LOCATION AND REMUNERATION
The role is located in Batlow, NSW. A competitive salary package including vehicle is available with this role.
