Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.
Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Environmental Volunteering Programs Officer.
Supporting the Environmental Volunteering Programs Coordinator, this role will see you coordinate and deliver Council's Bushcare and corporate volunteering programs and assist in delivering other environmental volunteering programs.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Training and supervising Bushcare trainers and volunteers
- Managing Council's Bushcare/Streetcare/Parkcare program databases
- Assisting with programs and events, including National Tree Day and the annual Bushcare seminar
- Coordinating Council's annual Bushcare seminar and workshop program
- Coordinating the recruitment of groups and individuals for Bushcare
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to engage with key stakeholders and the community at all levels.
To be considered for this role you will require a minimum Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management and/or previous experience in a similar role. A Current Class C driver's licence is essential, along with a current working with children clearance number and first aid certificate.
This position is 35 hours per week with access to flexi time.
