This a diverse role, reporting to our Regional Animal Care Manager, sits in a values driven workplace culture that supports RSPCA South Australia’s Vision to shape a compassionate society free of animal cruelty and suffering.

In this a pivotal role that not only will you provide daily vet nurse and animal welfare support to the RSPCA South Australia animal care centre, you will also facilitate training and information workshops (including puppy training and community education on animal welfare), and undertake external communication activities, including possible media interviews. But don’t worry, you will be provided training to teach you the necessary skills, tools and confidence to undertake these responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be energetic and tenacious in the achievement of goals, take initiative and demonstrate the personal drive to exceed targets. You will be a 'self starter' with a strong sense of initiative encompassing excellent time management and organisational skills. Importantly, you will have a highly collaborative approach and possess a personal style and ease that builds the trust and confidence of a range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have a Vet Nurse qualification, with demonstrated experience working as a Vet Nurse, and capable of handling aggressive, sick and injured animals. You must be willing to work over a 7-day roster, including public holidays. Some intrastate and interstate travel will be required from time to time.
