This large scale mixed farming operation is seeking a person to join us in the running of a commercial operation. Located just 2hrs north of Adelaide in the Mid North of SA, the property focus is on the running of cattle/sheep, feedlotting, pasture improvement & broadacre farming, wheat, barley, export hay, and legumes. This is a diverse agriculture business with modern & efficient farming & livestock practices.
The Position
As a farmhand/ stationhand a fantastic opportunity has become available on a large broad acre/ livestock property. The applicant will assist the farm manager in the day to day activities of the property including the cropping of 1500ha, whilst running 1200 cattle and 3000 sheep. The duties will include mustering, fencing, water maintenance, general livestock husbandry, pasture monitoring, feeding of livestock in feedlot situation, general maintenance, machinery maintenance & operation such as spraying and airseeder equipment. This is a good opportunity to further your skills in the agriculture industry.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience operating broadacre equipment is essential
- livestock handling & general farm maintenance skills.
- Current drivers licence
- Truck licence highly desirable
- Good communication skills, self motivated, trustworthy, & good attention to detail.
- Minimum of 3 years plus experience in farmhand/ stationhand is essential.
