Sundrop Farms is a leader in sustainable horticulture for the arid world; growing high-value crops using seawater and sunlight. Our first commercial greenhouse facility is nearing completion near the city of Port Augusta, South Australia.
Sundrop Farms is seeking a committed and talented person to fill the role of Junior Grower.
The Junior Grower will be responsible for supporting Port Augusta site growing activities including but not limited to health and safety, food safety, yield, labour, costs, IPM and quality standards. Drive own development to facilitate transition to roles of greater scope and responsibility.
- Assist Head Grower and Senior Grower to manage all systems to ensure that the greenhouse systems are working effectively and efficiently;
- Develop general knowledge of greenhouse operations;
- Contribute to crop discussions and report findings to growing team;
- Contribute to the development of and implement the Sundrop Farms Growing strategy to maximise yield and minimise pest and disease; and
- Maintain accurate plant registration data
- Contribute to the development of and implement the Sundrop Farms Hygiene strategy.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Knowledge and experience of crop work min 2 years preferably within a greenhouse environment; and
- Most important is enthusiasm and hunger to learn quickly.
