Guide Dogs Queensland is seeking a full time Kennel & Early Socialisation Team Leader to help coordinate the effective operation of our kennel and breeding facilities and effectively supervise and support GDQ’s litter socialization program. 

Our ideal candidate for this important position is someone who is a great team leader with the ability to think on their feet. Candidates should demonstrate the following:

• Experience in canine health care, husbandry and behavioural assessment and training.
• A class C open drivers licence.
• IGDF accredited Guide Dog Mobility Instructor qualification or other qualification deemed equivalent by GDQ.
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a litter socialization or puppy raising program within the guide dog or working dog industry.
• Excellent time management, organisational and problem solving skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, self-motivate and use your initiative.
• Great communication skills.
• The capability to build rapport with staff and volunteers with the ability to balance that with crucial conversations.
• Experience in leading teams through education and mentoring.
• Confidence and effectiveness in public speaking and presenting information to groups and individuals.
