Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.
Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the role of Companion Animals Management Officer.
This role will primarily be one of education and advice, and will see you provide high quality customer service when assisting the community in understanding relevant regulations, policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for organising events for pets and their owners, enforcement to ensure that public safety and amenity is maintained and representing Council at industry task groups and the like.
Maintaining appropriate records, preparation of reports and correspondence, the keeping of registers and statistics, and the documentation of evidence for local court prosecutions are key requirements of this position. You will also be required to undertake inspections and respond to customer enquiries and complaints.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person who possesses the ability to work collaboratively in a team to tight time frames while maintaining the provision of consistent, high quality service delivery.
To be considered for this role you will require tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or substantial experience in a similar role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential as is a willingness to work flexible hours.
