4Paws Cattery, located in the eastern suburbs of Boronia is now hiring for an animal care attendant. Our business is on the hunt for an experienced and qualified animal care assistant to help run our business. We are looking for someone with a passion for cats as well as a passion for providing amazing customer service in person and over the phone.

We are looking for someone who is available for up to 15 hours per week. Saturdays are mandatory but we can be flexible on days during the week. Of great importance is someone with a passion for animals and not just looking for a job.

Role responsibilities:

• Perform animal care tasks such as cleaning cages/enclosures; medicating; feeding; exercising; assessing animals
• General cleaning to our cattery, office, cleaning and kitchen area
• Moving cats from cages to play areas as well as picking up and dropping off cats for customer arrivals and departures
• Provide basic first aid to animals where required
• Provide excellent customer service to our customers over the phone, in person and over email
• Be able to assist in the very rare event we might need help after hours

Selection criteria:

• Certificate IV Animal Companionship or similar
• Previous animal handling skills
• Drivers licence (we are not close to public transport)
• Available for Saturdays and some days during the week
• Flexible approach to days and hours and available to start from 8:00am
• Good communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Team player
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to lift cats, food and litter

This is a temporary role to assist a maternity leave cover. May be up to 12 months.
