Harvest Road is currently the largest integrated beef producer and processor in Western Australia suppling major supermarkets and over 40 export markets.
Harvest Road is seeking an experienced irrigated farming professional with an appreciation for rural and remote living to join our team based at Minderoo Station, located on the Ashburton River near Onslow. Minderoo Station has three centre pivots producing fodder and a sub-surface drip irrigation paddock. Current focus is maximizing the production on these assets while developing a structured horticulture trial to form management decisions on future operations and development.
The Role:
- daily maintenance and operation of water infrastructure, including responsibility for an irrigation program on pivots and drip
- adhere to Operational Program including defined irrigation and fertiliser programs and maintain quality records to support adherence
- carry out all aspects of forage and hay production
- carry out operational duties of horticultural production in a trial phase
- carry out all farming duties including the safe operation and maintenance of machinery
- adhere to quality management requirements
- lead a strong safety culture across all farming operations
The Person:
- experience in irrigated fodder production
- experience interpreting agronomic advice
- experience with soil moisture monitoring and testing
- experience in machinery operation and maintenance
- chemical handling certificate
- ability to work autonomously
- proven leadership experience
- excellent communication skills
- strong desire to learn to support the further development of Minderoo’s Farming Operation
