Overview

Are you passionate about animal welfare? Do you love animals great and small? If yes, then you should know Shoalhaven City Council is seeking full-time & casual Animal Care Attendants to join the Shoalhaven Animal Shelter team, operating from the new premises at Nowra Hill.

Your New Role

Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Shoalhaven Animal Shelter, the focus of this position is to:

Provide a high level of care for animals
Provide a high level of customer service and administrative support
Promote a positive image of the Shelter to members of the public and other stakeholders

This position requires a current Working with Children Check.

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.

About You

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

Certificate II in Animal Attendant or equivalent
Certificate II in Business Administration or equivalent experience
Microchip Implanter certification
Eligible for Animal Euthanasia Technician certification
Ability to be trained to administer Vaccine
Ability to be trained to perform venipuncture for Feline AIDS (FIV)
Current First Aid Certificate
Eligible for Justice of the Peace appointment
Class C Driver’s Licence
