A new opportunity for a Quality Control Assistant has become available within the Corporate Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury.
This role focuses on quality of the fresh produce range. From building relationships with suppliers and external service providers, to communicating regularly with the fresh produce team regarding quality, specifications or any other relevant information to assist the team in decision making.

Quality is at the forefront of everything you do! Using your experience in building strong supplier relationships, you will drive continuous improvement of the fresh produce category. Having an understanding of fresh produce seasonality, grading and specifications is essential for this role.
Selection Criteria:
- Prior experience within a quality focused role.
- Understanding of fresh produce seasonality, grading and specifications.
- Experience in liaising and building strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
- Demonstrated commercial experience / knowledge.
- Understanding of Australian standards and regulations relating to fresh produce or FMCG.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Reporting and analysis experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and be IT literate.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take on responsibility and work autonomously.

Role Responsibilities;
- Be familiar with the Produce Buying Manager’s product areas and supplier base.
- Manage the fresh produce quality software applications.
- Visit national produce markets, suppliers and distribution centres.
- Provide buying assistance to the Produce Buying Manager.
- Develop fresh produce specifications including maintenance of the ALDI supplier specification portal.
- Provide specification variation recommendations.
- Drive best practice of fresh produce quality.
- Keep abreast of Australian standards and legislations relating to fresh produce/FMCG.
- Assist in product delivery and process issues.
This role reports to the Produce Buying Manager.
