About the business
An exciting opportunity has risen for an experienced Spray Co-ordinator, whose primary focus will be liaising with the Farm manager and Agronomist to determine what grounds and/or crops require spraying and the type/ rate of application.
About the role
Key responsibilities include:
- To ensure the timely spraying of soil and crops to ensure that pests, weeds and diseases are prevented and controlled and that crop health is maintained
- To maintain documentation of spraying to the standard required for QA and OH&S requirements
- To comply with OH&S regulations regarding handling and use of chemicals
- To maintain a spray diary for all spray records and ensure input into the farm management programme
- To maintain chemical and spray levels to ensure adequate supply in consultation with the Agronomist
- To ensure that chemicals and sprays are stored in a manner that is safe, secure and complies with OH&S legislative requirements
- To oversee the use of any equipment used in spraying
- To ensure that correct preventative maintenance systems are followed and that relevant documentation and reporting procedures are followed
- To ensure that any breakdown or problems with equipment are reported immediately
Skills and experience
Job Requirements
Skills, knowledge & experience
- Strong planning and organising skills
- Experience working in a farm environment
- Experience in the operations and maintenance of a wide range of farm machinery
- Knowledge of any software program done.
Qualifications:
- Farm Chemical Users Certificate
- Agricultural Chemical Users Permit
- An apprentice level qualification in Horticulture (production) is not necessary but it will be highly regarded
