About the opportunity
Opportunities to run your own business within our poultry operation, with guaranteed supply and off take agreements available. Each farm consists of 10 sheds holding up to 250,000 birds at any one time. RFM will provide the necessary inputs such as land, water, shed infrastructure, chickens, feed and litter. You will primarily be responsible for the management and labour required to: maximise bird growing performance, manage bio-security and bird health, and perform general maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. You will also be responsible for providing mobile plant and consumables. You will be paid a contract fee of approximately $240,000 annually with the scope to manage your own staffing and activities on a day-to-day basis. Bonuses for out-performance and penalties for under-performance apply. Housing will be supplied.
Opportunities are available within 15 kms of Griffith, NSW. Griffith is located 300 km west of Canberra and 575 km southwest of Sydney. Griffith boasts a population of approximately 30,000 and the Riverina region is a hub of agricultural activity. The town is well resourced with ten public, private and independent schools and major retailers including Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Bunnings and Harvey Norman.
What you will need to be successful
To take up this opportunity you will require:
- A proprietary limited company structure;
- Management Liability, Public Indemnity and Workers’ Compensation insurances;
- Key management personnel will be able to demonstrate their poultry experience (preferably broilers), knowledge of livestock nutrition, and have previously worked in a management capacity;
- Good level of business acumen and be able to demonstrate your ability to run a business with good financial, personnel and administrative management and meet performance targets; and
- Formal qualifications in animal science will be highly regarded but not essential.
Contract fee
You will be rewarded with a base contract growing fee, and bonuses and penalties will apply based on bird performance and other results and quality criteria. Contractors will be well rewarded for consistently achieving results close to, or above benchmark.
