About the role
As the Chief Animal Welfare Officer you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of contemporary animal welfare strategies and policies in NSW by integrating scientific information, commercial requirements and community views into optimal policy and legislative solutions that protect the welfare of animals to meet market requirements and deliver on Government commitments to animal welfare.
You will also proactively engage with key stakeholders and the community on animal welfare reform to inform the development of a sustainable engagement approach underpinned by modern governance frameworks.

About you
You are a proactive and results driven professional seeking a challenging strategic position and you will possess experience developing and implementing animal welfare policies and practices. You will have experience balancing government expectations and political drivers with the diverse views and demands of stakeholders at the national and international level
Additionally, you will have extensive experience in providing veterinary advice in a regulatory environment and experience in animal welfare, husbandry and medicine.
