Key Responsibilities:

•   Continuous improvement of agronomic farm practices to optimise yield, quality and ultimately profitability.
•  A strong focus on optimising water and nutrition management.
•  A key member of new initiatives and trials.
•  Support and liaise with operations and farm staff in the implementation of water, nutrition, pest and pollination management programs.
•  Support quality assurance and fruit quality assessment.
• Evaluate horticultural programs and participate in yearly reviews of horticultural and farm performance.
• Remain abreast of modern farm management practices that deliver tangible value.
• Driver optimum farming and natural resources efficiency.

Skills and Experience:

•  Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor degree in Science, preferably Horticulture).
• Experience in irrigation agronomy will be looked upon favourably.
•  Hands-on approach.
•  Advanced analytical thinking and good computer skills.
•  Confident, articulate, self-motivated and the ability to motivate others.
•  Well organised, disciplined, and an ability to work within a team environment and an environment of continuous change.
