A great opportunity has now arisen within Animal Health , to take up a position in the Companion Animal Sales team. Your new position will entail being the initial and ongoing sales contact between our customers and the Company within your designated territory. The main objective of this position is to build customer loyalty - as an expert advisor, and thereby increase sales in line with the Business Group strategic plans for growth. The territory boundary incorporates: North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast region and includes the Rockhampton area.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Delivering Sales Volumes - In units & dollars through actively promoting the Company's products and services via direct sales call on existing customers, prospecting new customers, identifying other sales opportunities. Measured through the achievement of budgeted sales volumes;
  • Customer Relationship Management - Working within a very competitive market your role will be the management of new and existing partnerships with retail pet stores, veterinary clinics and relevant accounts within a dedicated territory to build loyalty to the Bayer product range. Provide a high level of education and advice on trends and treatment utilising the Bayer product range. Identifying customer's needs and expectations, following up on enquiries, customer problem solving and monitoring service effectiveness. Working in conjunction with Key Account Managers to implement promotional activities at a store or clinic level. Update Veeva CRM system to capture all relevant information from customer calls after each sales interaction;
  • Planning and Organising - Develop effective territory plan and organising sales activities by making appointments, planning weekly objectives and prioritising and classifying customers. Appropriate administrative tasks required to successfully implement plans;
  • Maintaining Technical & Professional Knowledge - Keeping abreast of the latest sales techniques, product information and technology, competitor product knowledge and activity, developing required behaviours and competencies and projecting a professional image. Ensuring the dissemination of critical knowledge through Veeva. Attend and participate in Bayer meetings as required.

Who you are:

Essential Requirements:
  • Sales Representative Experience;
  • High School Certificate;
  • Computer Skills;
  • Familiar with veterinary & retail practices and customer service;
  • Energetic, organized and self-directed;
  • Business development experience;
  • Ability to adapt to a competitive market place - and capture the targeted market share.

Preferred:
  • Tertiary qualification in Science or related discipline;
  • Knowledge of companion animal health practices including parasite control;
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management databases (CRM);
  • Merchandising experience.
  • Key Account Management experience
