Avon Valley Poultry is seeking a Farm Manager for our new 6 shed free to range broiler complex at Northam, Western Australia. Northam is a regional service centre of the Avon Valley and Central Wheatbelt, and has extensive facilities. Northam has a Senior High School, TAFE and Muresk University (a division of Curtin University) and numerous Primary Schools.
The successful applicant will be responsible for
- The day to day running and responsibility of the farm including animal husbandry and staff management
- Maintaining a safe work environment
- Reporting on farm operations
- Planning and prioritising work
- Ensuring performance, animal welfare and cost objectives are achieved
- General maintenance and presentation
- Operating machinery
The successful applicant will have
- Sound computer skills
- Effective time management skills
- Be self-motivated and have a flexible attitude towards working hours
- Experience in the poultry broiler industry
- Good communication skills
- Experience with Fancom is preferred but not essential

The successful applicant must be a permanent resident living in Australia, be motivated and able to work efficiently unsupervised. The salary package will be negotiated on the applicant's experience.
