Our client is a mixed farming property including a piggery and grain and cattle situated on over 10,000 prime acres near Goondiwindi on Queensland’s fertile Darling Downs. They are one of Australia’s largest domestic suppliers of approved Free-Range pork, bred in accordance with the APIQ guidelines and were the first RSPCA approved piggery in Queensland. The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Piggery Attendant to join their team in Goondiwindi, QLD, with the potential to earn a Generous Salary + Superannuation + On-Site Accommodation included in the Package.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager some of your responsibilities include:
- Sorting, sexing and weighing of the pigs
- Complete livestock checks and sorting of weekly sales numbers
- Maintenance of grower-finisher pens
- Ensure livestock receive a natural, nutritiously balanced diet
- Responsible for timely vaccinations of the pigs
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience working with animals
- Excellent animal husbandry skills
- Experience working with pigs (desirable)
- A current drivers licence and reliable vehicle
The ideal candidate for this role will have a willingness to learn, be able to take responsibility and work autonomously and as part of a small team.
