CONTRACT POULTRY FARM MANAGER

At present, Agri Labour Australia has a rare and exciting business opportunity for a Poultry Farm Contract Manager based in the thriving, agricultural hub of Griffith, NSW.
THE ROLE
A job like no other, this position sees you managing our client’s poultry farm as your very own business!
Paid an annual fee of $240,000, for an initial twelve month contract, you will be responsible for providing the management and labour essential to the successful operation of the business. Comprising ten sheds with a 250,000 bird capacity, the farm comes equipped with fully established infrastructure and all necessary inputs in place.
Applying your extensive poultry experience to maximise bird growth, manage bird health and biosecurity, you will oversee budgets, your own staffing and all day to day activities of the business. You will be committed to increasing production outputs and improving the overall efficiency of the operation while following sustainable livestock management practices.
Ensuring the maintenance of machinery, infrastructure and other equipment, this highly attractive and unique contract provides you with an opportunity to achieve great bonuses and comes with onsite accommodation.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
With proven management experience and a background in poultry, you’ll be organised with a solid set of business skills, and be effective in hiring and leading a team of staff to ensure the efficient running of the business.
An understanding of broiler farms, their infrastructure, systems and processes would be highly regarded. To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:
- Be an established Proprietary Limited company structure
- Hold relevant Insurances - Management Liability, Public Indemnity and Workers Compensation
- Be able to display management and budget experience
- Have proven poultry expertise (formal qualifications in animal science are highly regarded but not essential)
- Have a good knowledge of livestock nutrition
