About the business
The Australian Lot Feeders' Association (ALFA), the peak national representative body for the cattle feedlot industry.
ALFA has four main roles:
- Represent the cattle feedlot industry;
- Direct the expenditure of the grain fed cattle transaction levy within Animal Health Australia, the National Residue Survey and Meat & Livestock Australia;
- Improve the industry through standards, training, events, leadership, awards, careers development and employment facilitation; and
- Membership services.
About the role
ALFA is seeking a full time Policy Manager to manage its important Animal Health and Welfare, Feedlot Management and Environment portfolios.
The role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with relevant Committee Chairs to develop and drive policy outcomes for the benefit of members' businesses.
Skills and experience
You must hold an Agricultural related degree, have knowledge of livestock production and the livestock industry, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time management and organisational skills, the ability to work harmoniously in a small team environment, and competency in the use of Microsoft Office.
A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the right candidate depending on skills and experience.
