The RSPCA NSW is Australia's preeminent animal welfare organisation. We provide a strong voice for animals experiencing cruelty and neglect. The RSPCA is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with approximately 500 staff across NSW to care for animals.
We all know life can get busy, and this is where you come in! The Pet Care Consultant program is an exciting new initiative from RSPCA NSW that will have you working with busy pet owners within their residence to ensure their beloved pet is happy and comfortable while they are away.
As these animals personal Pet Care Consultant you will spend your days (including some weekends and public holidays) providing;
- Interaction: these pets will love you for providing them with plenty of playtime and affection!
- Animal care: you will be there to tend to their medication, exercise, feeding, basic cleaning and grooming (if qualified)
- Observe and advise: you will be the eyes and ears of our customers when they are not home. You will observe pets for behavioural problems, injury or illness, and provide advice and information on their care to their owners
- Customer service: you will be a customer service superstar, assisting with all enquiries bookings and orders, providing information on RSPCA NSW services, and developing strong relationships with local residents
- Events assistance: you will assist at RSPCA NSW events and respond to enquiries, attend promotional events, promote services to the local community, and ensure everyone is safe and happy at our events
- Administration: process payments, manage bookings and events, maintain and order all products and supplies, and perform general admin duties.
The right Pet Care Consultant for the role;
- Must love animals
- Be a customer service superstar with administration experience
- Have a bubbly, can-do attitude
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of people
- Have experience in animal handling and care
- Be reasonably fit with the ability to lift up to 20kg
- Have the ability to work some weekends and public holidays
- Have strong computer literacy with past experience working with CRM systems
- Be a team player who can also work independently
In addition, it would be advantageous to have;
- Certificate II in Animal Studies
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- Experience in animal grooming
- Unrestricted driver’s licence
- Experience in events assistance and coordination
