Skill Hire are looking for a committed, passionate and enthusiastic Disability Support Worker to join our team. The role will focus on implementing and supporting Community Access Recreation programs.

The role comes with the responsibility to provide individual and small group support to adults with a disability on an individual needs basis. You will be assisting clients to acquire independent living skills and integration into the community through recreational activities and specific skills training.

As a Disability Support Worker your key duties will include:

Assist in developing and planning individualised goals and activities for service users.
Work collaboratively and in partnership with the service user to support them to exercise choice, achieve their goals and enhance community inclusiveness.
Monitor, evaluate and document progress of the service user while participating in planned activities.
Familiarise with service users’ personal care requirements.
Transport or support the transport of a service user travelling to and from the service and community activities.
Participate in assessments of services users’ ability, and review his/her interests and support needs.

To be considered for this position you will ideally possess the following:

Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent is desirable.
Demonstrated experience in working with people with disabilities.
Willingness to work with complex care needs.
A current criminal history check, first aid certificate, working with children check, WA driver's licence and reliable transport.
Ability to undergo pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screening.
