The Role – The purpose of the Intake Worker position is to effectively engage, screen, assess, refer, provide brief interventions and coordinate counselling for women who access, contact or are referred to the Logan Women’s.

As one of the first contact points for women accessing Logan Women’s, the Intake Worker will need to build a positive rapport with a wide range of people, as well as their family and friends.

The Intake Worker will need to be skilled in assessing a woman’s needs, including complex risk assessments and the ability to action a plan to mitigate any identified risk. The Intake Worker will participate in regular internal supervision and will be required to present and discuss cases with the counselling team.

The Intake Worker works as part of a multidisciplinary team, including our counselling team, community education team, and other centre based support. They will also work closely with local community and partner services to provide holistic and empowering care.

Time permitting; the Intake Counsellor is to develop resources that support the mental and emotional health of women. The centre provides direct service delivery to women in a space that is non-discriminatory, accessible and affordable.

About You – You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and with the team. You will have a good understanding of and experience in the community sector. The Intake Worker is required to be an effective member of the staff and counselling team of the Logan Women’s. The position offers a $16,050 tax free salary component, benefits from ongoing professional development and provides an opportunity to work within a caring environment with a highly motivated, fun and committed team of professionals.

Selection Criteria –

  • Outline your experience in working in a therapeutic counselling enviornment for women and their families
  • Demonstrate your knowledge and experience in intake and client file management
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced environment and finally,
