About the role
 
The Creche and Kindergarten Association (C&K), in collaboration with Mission Australia's Inala to Ipswich Communities for Children (CfC) program, has an exciting opportunity for an early childhood professional to run the program. This position is a delivery role, and the successful applicant will work to deliver a range of activities in the Ipswich area and reporting on activities for the region.
 
The position requires the successful applicant to focus on the program's two components:
  • The engagement and education of parents and early childhood professionals to support young children's development, with a focus on language and literacy development
  • The engagement of the school community, professionals and community services to deliver resources which support the transition to school for children and families
 
A flexible approach and a strong teamwork ethos will support the successful applicant to achieve targets in this role.
 
This position is part time working 20 hours per week (5 hours working each day Monday - Thursday). 
 
Key selection criteria include:
  •  Qualifications in early childhood, community development or human services
  • Sound knowledge of, and experience with, current early education development and practices
  • Skills in working with families from culturally diverse backgrounds including Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander families
  • A demonstrated understanding and skills in community development, networking with community agencies and strategies for engaging with families who have experienced social and economic disadvantage
  • Well-developed communication skills both written and oral with experience in maintaining records, reporting and evaluation and the ability to address both small and large groups
  • Skills in group work, events and activity based work
