Accoras ParentsNext Program

Funded by the Federal Department of Jobs and Small Business, the Accoras ParentsNext program assists eligible parents of young children to identify their education and employment goals, take part in activities that support the achievement of these goals and connect with local services that can help address any barriers to future employment.  

Accoras have been delivering the ParentsNext program in the Logan region over the past two years, and have recently been successful in securing funding to expand the reach of our services across South-East Queensland.


About you:
You are good at engaging and motivating people and helping them achieve their goals.  You have a "can do" attitude, are adaptable to change, and can work in a busy environment. You have experience assessing, engaging and supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds, different cultures, or those who are at risk of long-term welfare dependency.

You have case coordinator/case manager experience, a strong understanding of employment services and are confident to develop and review tailored plans for your clients. You are good at multi-tasking and are able to manage a high case load.

You have excellent communication skills, and can work effectively within a team, at the same time as completing independent tasks to a high standard.  You have good attention to detail and are computer literate. 

Ideally, you are familiar with Ipswich and surrounds, and the services available.  You are also confident of your ability to develop relationships with local services that will be of benefit to your clients.

This role will be based in Inala, with regular travel required across the Ipswich region.

You have a:
• Current driver's license and a reliable, fully insured motor vehicle;
• Bluecard, or have the ability to obtain one; and
• Ability to complete a National Criminal History Check.

Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to supply and resume and cover letter of no more than two pages that addresses the selection criteria:
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, human services or other relevant degree;

2. Experience in working with and engaging parents of young children, including those from diverse or multicultural backgrounds;

3. Demonstrated experience using a strengths-based approach/framework, in a case management role, specifically in a in family support or employment service settings;

4. The ability to support a large caseload of clients, including to develop and review plans, identify and address barriers, set goals and measure progress and success;

5. A high level of attention to detail, and the ability to use an online system to record accurate and timely client information.
