Your new company

The NSW Government has committed to develop the LINKS Trauma Healing Service (THS). The service seeks to decrease trauma symptoms, improve Psychological wellbeing and improve behavioural and emotional functioning for children in Out of Home Care.

Their Futures Matter, a new approach to child protection and wellbeing in NSW is bringing together government agencies, NGOs and the community to deliver a targeted response which wraps services and support packages around vulnerable children and families.


Your new role

This position is required to provide Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specialist services to the LINKS Trauma Healing Service. The position of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will ensure that Clinical Services are focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families.

  • Provide clinical management and treatment of children and young people in the LINKS program under your care.
  • Ensure Children and young people's treatment plans are in place.
  • Ensure a high standard of clinical record documentation is maintained.
  • Be an active participant in the clinical activities team
  • Adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
  • Comply with clinical governance policies and programs together with the framework of the LINKS program.
  • Participation in peer review and other personal development activities consistent with the relevant specialist medical college requirement to maintain professional standards
  • Ensure compliance with the standards contained within the Australian Council on Health Care Standards Guidelines for Accreditation.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialist (State) Award
  • Advanced Training Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (RANZCP) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional development
