About the Position

Anglicare’s Community Aged & Disability teams provide support and services that enable our clients to maintain their independence - living happily and healthily within their own homes. We recognize that one size does not fit all, and working together is the key to great outcomes. Our non-clinical lifestyle programs are designed to support individual needs, incorporating the principles of social inclusion, choice and control, enablement, empowerment and independence. 

Due to an updated model of care, we are looking for a full time Team Leader - Lifestyle & Wellbeing to join our team in Toowoomba, supporting clients in the western suburbs of Brisbane and the Darling Downs region. The role is responsible for the coordination, assessment and review of client supports to deliver sustainable lifestyle services, and the supervision of a range of workers on a day-to-day basis - including guidance and support in work practices, client documentation and other related activities.  

 

About You

An experienced Aged Care or Disability Services professional, you will bring the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven background in planning, conducting and evaluating lifestyle programs that incorporate choice and wellness
  • Previous experience in organising and facilitating both in-home and centre-based activities, group outings and social support programs for older people and those with disabilities
  • Confident in providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to a team and promoting a collaborative, productive working environment
  • Engagement and management of volunteers as a valuable addition to service delivery
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a professional and friendly manner
  • Experience in monitoring staff and volunteer training and development opportunities
  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and professional development of the service and yourself
  • Ability to identify individual client needs and assist to maintain or improve independent functioning
  • Strong conflict resolution, prioritisation and time management skills, and the ability to work productively within deadlines
  • Dedication to working within the sector to improve and enhance the lives of clients
  • Excellent administrative, reporting and documentation skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Diversional Therapy or a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or similar field
  • A current First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Valid Blue Card (Working with Children) with Yellow Card exemption
  • National Police Certificate
  • Queensland Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle
