Housing Choices Australia (HCA) creates safe, quality, affordable housing for people who are disadvantaged, homeless or have a disability and are struggling to find a home in Australia's challenging private rental market.

As a leading and growing national not-for-profit housing provider, our goal is to ensure that people are housed in inclusive communities and to create homes that encourage a sense of belonging. We own or manage more than 5,050 homes across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia and are currently establishing services in NSW.   

We have ambitious plans for greater impact including increasing our reach and helping more people find quality, affordable housing across the country.  Our organisation is set to achieve this by growing, developing and effectively managing affordable housing to build on HCA’s strengths and presence in Australia, whilst aiming to become a leader in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

We are now seeking an Housing Services Advisor to join our team located in the CBD. This role is responsible for the delivery of efficient and accurate rent reviews within the Victorian portfolio.

 You will have outstanding customer service and communication skills and be willing to go the extra mile for clients. 

 As an Housing Services Advisor, you will:

  • Conduct regular rent income and market rent reviews in accordance with HCA policy and procedure
  • Input and maintain rents, changes to rents, next rent review dates and notifies residents accordingly
  • Support applicants to lodge and complete applications
  • Conduct interviews with applicants for housing as required
  • Assess housing need, advising clients on public, private and community housing options.
  • Assess clients for Housing Establishment Fund (HEF) payments to assist clients to access or maintain accommodation options.
  • Promote and actively participate in customer care and quality assurance initiatives and support initiatives to increase resident involvement

You will need to develop excellent working relationships and show empathy and commitment to the needs of people who are disabled and/or socially disadvantaged. You will demonstrate an ability to work autonomously, have excellent administration skills, time management skills and be highly organised.

 This is a permanent, ongoing role.  The role will be reviewed within 6 months, to evaluate the role responsibilities and there may be role development or career progression opportunity at this time.
