Team Leader: Child and Parent Centre

Wunan is looking for two Team Leaders to manage its Child and Parent Centres in Kununurra and Halls Creek.

These positions will lead service delivery and early childhood learning and development activities within the Child Parent Centre in Kununurra.

The people we are looking for will have the  capacity to:

  • Lead,  supervise and support the work of a small team
  • Engage parents and carers with the Child Parent Centre
  • Promote community participation in the activities of the Centre, with children and parents learning together
  • Plan and schedule a range of early childhood development and events delivered at and through the CPC
  • Administer a community service
  • Accurately collect and record data
  • Write performance reports for funding bodies, with the assistance of the Manage r Early Years and Family.
  • Work collaboratively with funding bodies and external service delivery partners, especially schools.

The successful applicants must have:

  • A current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Valid Driver licence
  • Relevant previous experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families and children
  • An understanding of early childhood development.
  • Tertiary or other relevant post-school qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

  4. Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous Culture and the issues / challenges faced in working with children, parents and family.
  5. Cultural competencies and the ability to work across cultural differences.
