About the opportunities

We have an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker in our Placement Prevention and Reunification group to work in the Families First program. 

In this roles, your busy day will include:

  • Intensive short term case work, with regular home visits and transport of clients
  • Undertaking complex family assessments
  • Planning, analysis and review of family interventions
  • Participation in Family Group Conferences
  • Working with CALD and Aboriginal families
  • Comprehensive case noting, report writing and case file management

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant tertiary qualification in a field related to Social Work or Psychology.

 

You will be asked to address the following questions related to the person specifications in a separate document to be uploaded as part of your application:

  • Summarise your knowledge and applied use of theoretical approaches and the Best Interest Principles relevant to working with children and families
  • Describe examples of how you have planned and implemented appropriate interventions in relation to the development of parenting capacity and family functioning
  • Describe examples of how you have worked together with Child Protection on complex cases
